Hello. - keyonavines2002
Hello. I want to talk about the experience I had with BMW of Milwaukee North located at 5990 N. Green Bay Av Milwaukee, WI. In 2019 I bought a vehicle from them and purchased Gap Insurance for a little under $1000.00. Purchasing the vehicle was not a problem. The sales team was nice and friendly. The issue I have is in January of 2022 I paid of my car early. I have bought several cars and every time I paid my vehicle off early and didn’t use the entire term of the GAP insurance, I was refunded money. Well, not with BMW. I call the dealership asking to speak to someone about cancelling my contract for GAP insurance. I was transferred multiple times, placed on hold and hung up. At this point I went to the dealership and tried to cancel the GAP insurance. I spoke to a finance employee and explained what I was trying to do. Thank goodness I still had the original contract that read “The GAP Addendum is between You and the Dealer”. I should mention I attempted to cancel the GAP insurance with the company who supplied the insurance but was instructed the dealership has to refund the money prior to me going to the dealership. It even says if you are cancelling the policy go to the dealership on an automated recording. When I spoke to the finance lady, she kept trying to say the dealership does not owe me anything even though I told her that was false. After going back in forth she finally said she tried to take my original paperwork which I said no you are going to make a copy of it. The finance lady said she was going to give it to a woman who was in another department. I left thinking this was taken care of.
After of a month of waiting no phone calls and no check. I called again and spoke to the same finance lady who insisted the dealership didn’t owe me anything. She stated now it was my lender who owed me the money and I should call them. I told her that is not true, it’s the dealership and she insisted it was my lien holder. I called and my lien holder confirmed it was the dealership who has to cancel the contract and owed me the money. What makes me mad is the finance lady didn’t believe that the company who issued the gap insurance stated the dealer had to cancel the policy and the dealership owed me the remaining balance for the unused portion of the GAP insurance. The finance lady called herself and received the same message. The finance lady even consulted with other employees and I hear over say “ This lady” before the phone was muted. I had to go to the dealership a second time and had the lien holder on the phone who had to explain to the finance lady they had nothing to do with the GAP insurance. The finance lady than called a woman who issues the checks for cancelling GAP insurance and she stated yes, I was owed a refund because I was cancelling the policy. I asked the fiancé lady where did my paperwork go, she took last time and come to find out she gave it to the wrong person. She stated she just found out just found out who was in charge of the GAP insurance. After all of this they tried to refund me as if I was cancelling the policy the day of instead of the month prior. I asked am I going to be refunded from last month when I cancelled it than. The finance lady said I was not and the GAP insurance lady said I was. I don’t know who this finance lady is but at the end of everything I did receive my money. The finance lady had the nerve to say I learn something new on this job. No apology or anything. I will never ever buy from this dealership again or their other dealership (Porsche) on Silver Spring Dr.
My point is if I was young person or not persistent, didn’t keep my paper work I would have never received anything. The finance lady had said oh the dealership switched companies who provide gap insurance which was also not true. I don’t know if they trying to scam people or what. I thought I would share my experience.
