RUN! Straight to another dealer! Unprofessional rude crooks. Tiffany and Luke were just doing their jobs, but they should really select a different dealer to work for. Anytime a sales man has to ride with you for a test drive, and go to the manager to ask every question there is a problem with the management. Chris (the used car sales manager) is the rudest, most arrogant "manager" I have ever encountered of any type besides Tripp (new car sales manager). Final financed price with great credit that they didnt even run was $10k higher than the asking price, on a $22K truck. Chris gave Luke all the prices "off the top of his head". No one ever touched a computer, but gave me a monthly payment without an interest rate or a term. After three trips outside to ask the manager that was on the phone talking leaned over a trash can making up numbers Luke came back with a 54 month term. After being told these numbers were "spot on" without running my credit, and that we needed to decide soon because the banks close in a few minutes we left.
On our way out Chris informed us we wouldn't find a better truck or a better price, and that they price all their vehicles that way for their customers and it's never been a problem. Well pulling numbers out of thin air is a problem for us, as well as being treated like we were an inconvenience. I got in my car to leave and remembered my deposit that I had put on the truck when I made the appointment, so I went back in to get my money. Chris Thompson decided to tell me again that this is just the way they do business and no one ever has a problem with it. Well judging by the fact that 7 employees were sitting outside smoking and vaping with not one customer on the lot the entire time we were there, yeah they have a problem with it. I was refunded my deposit and we left.
My husband called Tiffany the following business day (since she was the first person we had made arrangements with, and thought she would be there for the appointment,) to express our concerns on the overall experience. She said let me get you with a manager, and he told her he didnt want to talk to Chris, nor did anyone have to call us back, just know we wont be back. Well Tripp (the new car sales manager) called us back. He defended Chris to the fullest saying his numbers are always right and I dont see where you are getting $32k. Simple math $586 a month for 54 months is 31644, and $568 for 54 months with $2k down is 32672. Nevertheless the price didnt matter because they didnt even run me to see what the bank said I qualified for. They just wanted an agreement to a huge price that we would be stuck with. Tripp said well if you had told us you wanted a $150/month payment we would have told you we couldn't help you! My husband said did we ever say $150, no we asked where the xxxx are you getting this price from? Tripp said well that's how we do business so the good thing is you dont ever have to come back!
Two managers that do not empower their team to make decisions, everything has to be run through them. And they are the two most arrogant "managers" with zero customer service skills I have ever seen in my life. Chasing dollars on a deal is more important than building a customer friendly relationship.
Just FYI Tripp & Chris, we purchased a newer truck, with low miles, clean carfax, a warranty, and every bell and whistle, without having to hurry before the bank closed because my credit was so good the dealer didnt need to verify the banks terms. And the real kicker it was priced the same as yours, but the payment is less than $400 a month for 60 months. And the salesman didnt have to ride with us.
Real dealers calculate real prices and treat their customers well, dealerships are a dime a dozen, go somewhere where you will be treated kindly and fairly. Repeat business and word of mouth couldn't be more important right now for a business, and it's easily done. It's harder to be a jerk than a decent human being. Farewell Larry Stovesand of Paducah, that man should be ashamed your behavior.
