Enjoy my deposit...
In May of this year, I placed an order for a new 2022 Trailboss. This required a $500 deposit. The agreement states that if cancelled or I refuse to take delivery they have the option of not refunding my deposit. The truck has not been built but is scheduled for production mid-June. I was initially told that the truck would arrive around Sept but now it would be July. Normally that would be great news but unfortunately due to a personal issue, I needed to tap into my down payment fund needed a little time to make that up and decided it was better to cancel the order (June 3). I shared that I would be ready to purchase later this year and explained to the dealer that I had a hardship and that while I regretted to do so, I needed to cancel. They stated that I was not able to cancel and that that I will be forfeiting my $500. This deposit is being forfeited as damages. What damages? These vehicles are selling before they actually land at the dealer, hence ordering. I guarantee they will increase the selling price from my contracted price and make more money in addition to my $500. I get that this is their choice but it does say a lot about them as a dealer. Ultimately, it is my fault for selecting them. I will not make that mistake again.
