The Tate brothers are very entertaining on FB.

Alot of what they say absolutely resonates with me.

Many dismiss them but you find they've often not listened to a word they've said!

I'm not saying they are role models but they are hugely relevant for many and I enjoy there reels.

Edgy, provocative, say it how they see it.

It’s a great example of what he is and stands for.

A pinch of hyper masculinity
A splash of fragility
A sprinkling of misogyny

He and his brother just feed off insecurity and weakness in their followers.

How can he be so alpha and strong yet so triggered by Elmo rofl

You do realise that makes you a bad person, don't you. Not as enlightened or virtuous as some of the other people contributing to this thread?

Go and watch the clip of Saint Ricky over and over until you can come back here and froth properly.

Nuance indeed. FFS.

There will always be idiots who idolise crooks and conmen. I expect it's because they'd like to be able to emulate those characters in some way.

Similarities between the tates and Trump - just goes to show how many gullible people there are out there.

Absolute s. The pair of them.

Compare and contrast to Ricky Gervais on tax...

This applies to both Tates and RG, but it's easy to say when you've got the money and can afford it - mortgage paid off, can survive without ever having to worry about work again, etc).

When you don't have it, but you work your arse off to keep the roof over your head and food on the table, and can't afford to take your kids away for a holiday (or trainers, new bike, etc etc), you absolutely WOULD hoard money if you had the opportunity. For RG to say that he doesn't mind paying tax, well I should bloody well think not.

You can bet that Gervais has a good accountant and structures his finances very carefully. I am a bit surprised he said all of that actually, I thought he was smarter. I don’t think it plays well.

Yes, and Jimmy Savile did a lot for charity.

Been reading a few things about this chap (I am a bit old to be in his target market)

Apologies if I've missed it on this thread but did he actually say this?

Any man who has sex with women because it ‘feels good’ is gay,
Oh my pee pee feels good this is great! In fact you are 40 with less than 5 children you’re probably gay
All that feel-good pee pee sex and hardly any genetic legacy?

If he did say it, what's the context?

I haven't seen the stuff that 'resonates' with a couple of people here, does anyone have any quotes or links to the sensible or inspiring stiff he's said, if there is any?

What I've seen suggests he's a borderline spoof/prank.

You can dislike someone, and disagree with just about all of their opinions, and yet still have the ability to recognise that you agree with some things they say.

I can't stand the Tates, but one thing they are a big advocate of, is self improvement - which is something I entirely agree with.

He 'improved' himself into prison, which doesn't seem very inspiring.

You asked about stuff he says that might resonate with people, I gave you an answer.

If he said it was Tuesday and it was Tuesday, I'd agree with him.

If he claimed he was defending masculinity from a pernicious attack by the Children's Television Workshop brought to you by the letter P and the number 3, I'd assume he was a cult leader.

Is he really an advocate for self improvement?

Or does he say
Look at me aren't I great?

I am really wary of believing what I read online but beyond having decent biceps from what I can tell about his lifestyle there isn't really any self improvement.

He liberally sprinkles his bullst with legitimate comments around self improvement and reasonable insight, this is then used as a defence when he says the utterly indefensible to say "look see how reasonable I am and i am just support the common man to self development and improvement"

I think grifter is an appropriate term.

We seem to define self improvement in different terms.
