In reality the typing pool is much more tetchy about being stereotyped?
Tell that to the Softies who have just coded round a hardware failure and have got Voyager 1 working again.

(Joking aside, that is absolutely awesome isn't it!)

That wouldn't work as it wouldn't get past line 10.

Oh and this should have quotes?

30 PRINT "WOOHOO"

Oh and surely it should be "HELLO WORLD!" ?

I read that earlier and it's amazing that something made/launched nearly 50 years ago is still functioning. I believe that they had to poke in a new instruction to break out of a an output loop of nonsense (turned out to be a full memory dump which was probably very handy hehe )? Not bad when a message takes 22 hours to get there and a response 22 hours to get back...

Yes indeed. A truly amazing feat for sure.

The memory dump would have indeed been a big bonus, I would imagine.

And, since this is a joke thread and I don't want the inevitable complaints, I will add:

"In space, no-one can hear you poke" smile

And there was me looking for a punchline based on expert users of a Unix screen based text editor. nerd
