All this reality show language
"She has got good banter"
"He has got good chat:
"He's a sort " a sort of what? Total narcissistic, steroid infused meat head who has a longer beauty regime than a catwalk model. These new pretty boys wear so much make up and spend so long tanning and blow drying their hair they're borderline transvestite.

"No disrespect but....." followed by, er, something disrespectful.
"I literally died laughing......" when, clearly, you're alive.
"The best approach for someone like myself...." so, "me" too short for you then?
"Lessons will be learned".........no, no they won't, it's just shorthand for an admission that you, or your organisation, were too fking thick to realise just how bloody incompetent you were to start with, you moron.

This x 100.English is a living language (although that phrase will upset people, screw it). It will change over time. However the brilliant thing about English is how fault tolerant it is. Ultimately it is this fault tolerance that lead to it being adopted by so many other nations.

"to be honest" when they mean "to be frank" or "to be blunt". So you were lying the rest of the time?
A 'friend' of mine uses this quite often, seemingly because he feels it adds an amount of weight to what he's about to say.It usually ends up along the lines of... "to be honest, most Chinese people do look the same"
And then we all end up explaining what he's just said, why he's wrong, and why everyone hates him.
edit. clarity.
